Book Information and a Blog Hop

Today I’m participating in a blog hop with some fellow authors and bloggers. Thanks to Cheri Swalwell for her invite (you can find her on her facebook page).  I hope you will take the time to visit some of their sites, as well, to see where they are in their writings.  Here is my information on my book I’m writing. Enjoy!
1. What is the working title of your book?
  • Being Transparent

2. Where did the idea come from for the book?

  • Growing up in church and realizing not everyone stays committed to their passion as they live their daily lives. Having a desire to see everyone live their Christian life as it should be…a love affair with God

3. What genre does your book fall under?

  • Religion & Spirituality / Christian self-help.
4. Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?

  •  I do not see this book as going into a movie.

5. What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?

  •  This book will remind readers the importance of once again becoming transparent in every area of their lives so accountability can enter the picture; allowing for better growth within our spiritual lives and that of others.

6. Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?

  • Self-published.
7. How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
  • Still writing my book. I plan to finish by May 2013.

8. What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?

  • do you know who i am? by Angela Thomas is the closest one I’ve found to date.

9. Who or What inspired you to write this book?

  • People in my Bible study class at church. I would add to other writers and Bible studies I led to enhance our study. They felt this was a calling I should pursue. I loved watching them learn from my writings.

10. What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?

  • The book indicates we have become numb to ways we are not growing in our Christian walk due to living in the “church world” for so long. It talks about ways we can become like a new Christian again by being more transparent to ourselves, God and others with our lives.

Please take the time to visit these other sites from my friends, Karissa Sorrell and Jason Hicks, who are also participating today.
