I wrote this poem about peace while I was in college. I thought I’d share with you today as we live among chaos in this world…

Peace

What is peace? 

It is the feeling of security

although you don’t see it

The calm after the storm

The bugle’s cry at a funeral

What is peace? 

It is something everyone longs

for throughout his life

The inspiration to continue forward

The satisfaction of doing right

What is peace?

It is the smile from a loved one after

a hard day at work

The kisses and barks from your dog

The relaxation of no more work until Monday

What is peace?

It is lying in the middle of a field

knowing you are alone

The view of thousands of stars

The sight of animals running freely

What is peace?

It is knowing that you are true

to yourself and to others

The assurance that others are real

The confidence that you can make it

This is peace.
