New Beginnings

Do you ever feel you just need a new beginning in your life? A new start? A do over?

Each January, I wite a summary of the previous year to see where our family has been and to see my perspective of things. I was caught off guard as I read my summary for 2018 as I felt I was reading what I would have written for 2019. The words haunted me, “I feel stuck”.

Feeling stuck is not a pleasant feeling. There are moments of frustration, moments of isolation, and moments of hopelessness. It’s hard to feel passion when you’re feeling stuck.

As I read those words from 2018 and realized I was still there, I asked God to forgive me for my apathy and for my not moving forward. I had given up and given in to the “being stuck”.

Have you been there before: not living into what you’re supposed to be doing, not living into who you’re supposed to be? I was going through all the motions and I was spending time with God, but there was still distance at times.

How are we to get out of this “being stuck”? As cheesy as it sounds, as I asked for forgiveness, I immediately said to myself, “well, it’s 2020, so I guess it’s time to look at things more clearly”.

So, I’m letting you know that I’m in the process of working on a daily devotional. This is something several of you have requested from me whether through this blog or at speaking events. God laid it on my heart to finish this. You’re my accountability partners. As I pray for you, I ask that you pray for me through this project. It’s really hard to write while God’s so evidently working on you because at times it’s just raw.

I am called to be real and transparent; even when I don’t like how I might look. I grow more when I realize others struggle and they share their testimonies, so I’m going to be doing that, as well.

Is there a certain part of your life where you feel stuck? Or, are you going through the motions and something just doesn’t feel right? Know I’m praying for you. I’m praying you’ll be able to have a new beginning this year. Let’s be in prayer for one another.
